Just like our readers, the YoungDiplomats team spans the globe. Journalists, correspondents, students and academics are just a few of the titles that our contributors, editors, and photographers hold. If you would like to become part of the team or contribute your work to YoungDiplomats’ multiple channels on an ad-hoc basis, read these quick guidelines before you email us with your work and resume.
Young Diplomats accepts submissions on a regular basis, including content for the various print editions: the Website, and the Blog. Contributors may also send other content for consideration, such as original Videos, Photos, and other Multimedia content. To submit your book manuscript or book idea, please email us. Experts, young professionals, and students of global affairs alike, are all welcome to submit their content.
We welcome articles (reporting, analysis etc) on topics revolving around international affairs, covering every sub domain as well as opinion pieces on any national/international topic as we seek to reach a variety of issues from regions all over the world.
The submissions should represent original, unpublished work and must reflect a good English language level. Articles should be between 300 and 1500 words and should be written in a concise and comprehensive form.
When sending an article please also include a brief description (bio) of the author (max 100 words).
Please submit your piece as a Microsoft Word document to youngdiplomats2@gmail.com. In the email subject title, please include “Submissions” and your submission’s working title. We usually take about five working days to get back to you with a decision.
Every submission is reviewed by at least two editors before a decision is made to publish, ask for revisions or decline.
A special note to all contributors wishing to submit their manuscripts: Young Diplomats publishes only original content. If you have published your piece with another outlet (including blogging sites, and any other internet, digital, or print outlet), we cannot accept it. Authors wishing to publish with Young Diplomats retain some rights to their work, however, if they wish to republish their articles or blogs in their personal blogs after said works have been published in Young Diplomats, they must properly attribute Young Diplomats and link back to the Young Diplomats website. Failure to do so will result in immediate removal of the piece from our website and server. If you have any questions about this policy please contact us.
